Art is a huge part of my everyday life. Art, of all kinds, is one of my favorite things in the whole world. I enjoy looking at it, as well as making it myself. For me, it is a way to express the way that I feel about my life, as well as things that go on around me.
Recently, an Andy Warhol exhibit came to the local museum in my town.
This is the museum and
this is the type of artwork he did. He took well known pop culture images and
changed them to reflect how he saw them. In town, we also have what we like
to call a gallery walk. It happens on the first Friday of every month, year
round, and it is where local artists can display their artwork for anyone to
see. Many people come out to see the artwork.
For my own artwork, I enjoy painting, photography and drawing the most, but I do like to do all kinds of art. At school, I am taking a photography class were we just received a grant for $1,000 to take pictures of local agriculture. I was asked to accept the award, which was given to us by the Strolling of the Heifers. The Strolling of the Heifers is a festival that Brattleboro hosts once a year, in the summer, when the whole community comes out to support local agriculture. Click here to learn more.
This is one of my art teachers and I accepting the grant.
Outside of our local area, I really enjoy visiting museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Mass.
