TRIP DAILY DIARY: ASIAN-AMERICAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE

04/19/04-Monday - THE GREAT WALL

AACE - 2004 - At The Wall!

Joey's dream: to skate the Great Wall!

Chris at one of the guard towers (it was 90ºF today!)

We were asked to be photographed by these Chinese tourists because of Asa's red hair...she's a star!

"How did our trip to the Great Wall today change your life"

Joe: Walking on the Great Wall I got a view of how truly powerful and intimidating the Chinese Dynasties were.

Taylor: I can't believe how long it must have taken to make something that is this huge. I wouldn't have wanted to have to build it.

Steve: Some of the best running I've done in China!

Erin: The irregular steps kind of threw off my Feng Shui, but the view was spectacular.

Owen: If you walked to left there were 269 steps, if you walked to the right there were 472!

Lisa: How can one take in 1200+ years of history in a few hours? Steve jogged; Joey skated; Chris and Lisa painted; Taylor took the lead w/ Leah, Erin, Bridget and Fei close behind; Sarah, Asa and Hillary meandered; Owen hiked and shopped and Mary managed us all!
