TRIP DAILY DIARY: ASIAN-AMERICAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE

04/26/04 - MONDAY - Flower market in the morning, lunch with the students, afternoon in Western Hills, Banquet in the Evening

AACE students ready for the banquet at our hotel in Kunming. Dignitaries from the University and the Experimental School hosted us. We all wore our party clothes, some made for us in Dali (note Taylor and Joey in their silk suits).

Twin Valley High School students and chaperones

BUHS students L-R: Fei, Sarah, Erin, Leah, and "the Donald" Owen
We were presented University t-shirts and batik bags by our hosts and in turn presented them with Vermont memorabilia and AACE t-shirts.

Our hosts from the University on the left and our colleagues at the Experimental School on the right, with Tienming to the far right, our University sponsored guide, translator and traveling companion.

The AACE students were AWESOME at this event (notice they get their own table to sit at, this was the seating arrangement our hosts suggested).
