W/ ADMINISTRATORS, EVENING

Asa, Sarah, Hillary and Erin belting out their favorites! |

Bridget and Leah took a turn, above; while a little later
Juefei and Hillary shared the stage. |
 |
|
|
This one, above, included Joey's "break yourself foo"
impression.
Jenny,
right, joined her friends at the mike for a tune. |
|
|

Finally the administrators, above, got brave. This could be Sgt.
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band they are singing. They were in
China at the same time we were, although traveled to Inner Mongolia
to present papers at a conference.
Erin,
left, using her award winning musical skills, soloed for this
number. |

Steve and Erin remarking on forks instead of chopsticks for our
final hotel karaoke party meal. |

The students helping out the administrator group on a version
of Don McLean's American Pie. |

Our Chinese friends, including Juefei Wong, director of the Asian
Studies Outreach Program for UVM (L) sang us a few Chinese favorites.
Then Jenny (Jingjing), right, our delightful university student
interpreter, sang a lovely ballad in Chinese which she dedicated
to her teen American friends. |
|
|

As the party wound down, and the administrators went off to pack
and to bed, the hard core stayed for a few more laughs. Finally
the lights were turned down and most headed off to sleep, our
last night in Beijing (although, ask Erin, Sarah and Hillary how
much sleep they got!). |
